Ag Expos Are a Great Place to Market Your AgriBusiness - Even If You're Not An Exhibitor

Ag expos are a great place to network and market your agribusiness - even if you don't have an exhibitor booth.  The key is to attend the expo and take advantage of the hundreds if not thousands of farmers who are there.

Here are some marketing tips:
  • Use yourself as a walking billboard:  Wear a jacket, coat, hat, etc. with the name of your ag business or product on it.
  • Take your business cards.  Strike up conversations wherever you're at - whether it's waiting for a hotdog at the food booth, or sitting in on an educational demonstration. Finish your chat by handing out a business card.
  • Take a flyer.  Wall space by the demonstration arena and restrooms are a great place to post a flyer for your ag business.  Take good tape so it sticks if the walls are cement block.  Make sure you make a flyer with pull tabs with the name of your business on it and your number.
  • If you have pens with the name of your ag business on them - take them and leave some wherever you see a registration table for an event or for a drawing.
More marketing tips are in our upcoming book "AgriMarketing Your AgriBusiness" (available June 2016 from iUniverse and Amazon)
